Handcrafted Michigan porcelain ornament featuring a design inspired by Ferndale, Michigan, in Cherry Red on a white porcelain body.
Ferndale is a quirky town just north of Detroit, known for its progressive spirit and vibrant LGBTQIA+ community. I wanted this design to reflect that sense of inclusivity, so I used the “U” symbol throughout. In math, “U” represents union, and to me it symbolizes everyone coming together to form a welcoming community. The design also includes Art Deco influences, a nod to the era when Ferndale was founded and one of my favorite design styles.
Because each ornament is finished and glazed by hand, no two pieces are exactly alike. You may notice slight variations in color, texture, or small imperfections. These details are part of the handmade process and reflect the human craftsmanship that makes each ornament truly one of a kind.
